What is a Quinceanera?
A "Quinceañera" is a celebration to honor the passage from childhood into adolescence of a girl on her
fifteenth birthday. This celebration serves to preserve the cultural heritage of Latinos and the unity of
their families

What happens at a Quinceañera?
Quinceañeras will include: Thanksgiving Mass and Celebration. The celebration consists of Entrance,
Toast, Waltz with Chamberlains, Family Waltz, General Waltz, Dinner, Cake Cutting/Dessert,
15-candle ceremony, song dedication, dancing and sometimes a Karaoke Carnival or Batucada.

How does one go about planning a Quinceañera?
There are Quinceañera preparation classes available that will help you to better understand and plan
a proper Quinceañera. Because this is an important tradition, it should be planned with respect, dignity
and tradition.
